Tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana and vara for any date and place — computed at local sunrise
Offset is auto-filled from the city (Sri Lanka historical changes handled). For other countries, adjust for daylight-saving time if it applied at that date.
| Vara (weekday) | Wednesday |
| Tithi | Shukla (waxing) Navami (9/30) |
| Nakshatra | Swati · Pada (quarter) 2 |
| Yoga | Sadhya (22/27) |
| Karana | Balava |
| Moon rashi | ♎ Libra |
| Sun rashi | ♋ Cancer |
Note: a tithi or nakshatra can change mid-day — shown here is the value at sunrise, following almanac convention.
Panchang means "five limbs": vara (the weekday), tithi (each 12° of Moon–Sun separation — the basis of poya days), nakshatra (the Moon's lunar mansion), yoga (27 divisions of the SUM of the sun and moon longitudes) and karana (half a tithi). Sri Lankan litha and Indian panchangams tabulate exactly these values each morning. Here they are computed astronomically for your own coordinates and sunrise, using sidereal longitudes with the Lahiri ayanamsa where tradition requires them.
