Last updated: 26 August 2026

Summary

  • vidu.dev does not collect, store or sell your personal data.
  • There are no user accounts and nothing to sign up for.
  • There is no advertising on this site.
  • Most tools, including the developer, PDF and image tools, run inside your browser.
  • Your browser keeps your own settings on your own device. The site sets no cookies of its own.
  • Some files load from public CDNs, so those providers see your IP address.

This summary is for convenience only. The numbered clauses below govern.

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the website published at vidu.dev and to all of its sections, including the portfolio pages, the developer tools and the astrology tools. It does not apply to any other website, including websites you reach through a link from this one.

2. Definitions

  • “the Site” means the website vidu.dev and all of its pages.
  • “I”, “me” and “the Operator” mean Gayan Viduranga, the individual who owns and operates the Site.
  • “you” means any person who visits or uses the Site.
  • “Personal Data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable person.
  • “Tool Input” means any text, file, image or other content you enter into or open in a tool on the Site.

3. Who is responsible

The Site is a personal website operated by Gayan Viduranga, an individual based in Sri Lanka. It is not a company and is not affiliated with any organisation. Where data protection law uses the term “controller”, the Operator is the controller for the limited data described in this policy.

4. Personal data collected

The Site does not ask you for Personal Data. In particular:

  • there are no user accounts, logins, sign-up forms or newsletters;
  • there is no contact form, so contact happens on external platforms under their own policies;
  • no profile, marketing list or customer record is created about you.

The only data connected with your visit is the technical information described in clauses 8 and 9, which is handled by third parties rather than by me.

5. Data you enter into the tools

Currently The Site is published as static files. It has no database and no API that receives Tool Input.

When you paste text, open a PDF, select an image or enter birth details, that Tool Input is processed by code running on your own device. It is held in your browser while you work and is released when you close or reload the page, except where you have asked a tool to remember something under clause 6. The tools designed to reach the network are listed in clause 10.

You can verify this. Open your browser's developer tools, select the Network tab, and use a tool. You will see the page and its libraries load, and no request carrying your Tool Input.

6. Browser storage

Some tools save your preferences using localStorage, a storage area inside your own browser. Data kept there stays on your device, is readable only by your browser, and is not sent to me. Typical examples are:

  • your theme choice (dark or light);
  • the language selected on the astrology pages (English or Sinhala);
  • per-tool settings and recent inputs, for example saved requests in the API Tester or the last options used in a generator.

You can remove all of it at any time by clearing site data for vidu.dev in your browser settings.

7. Cookies, advertising and analytics

There is no advertising on the Site, and at the date of this policy no analytics or visitor-tracking service is used. If this changes, this policy will be updated before or when the change takes effect, and any consent required by law will be requested at that time.

8. Hosting and server logs

The Site is served by a third-party hosting provider. As most web servers do, the provider may record its own access logs, which can include your IP address, the time of the request, the file requested and your browser's user agent. Those logs are kept by the provider for security, abuse prevention and reliability, under its own terms and privacy policy. Please refer to that provider's privacy policy for details of its retention and handling practices.

9. Third parties your browser contacts

To keep pages light, some assets load from public content delivery networks. Your browser requests them directly, so those providers receive your IP address and user agent, as they would for any website that uses them:

  • jsDelivr and unpkg, for Bootstrap, icons and tool libraries;
  • Google Fonts, for the Inter and JetBrains Mono typefaces;
  • logo and icon images in the skills section, served from the projects' own websites, for example php.net, laravel.com and Wikimedia.

These providers act on their own behalf under their own privacy policies. None of them receives your Tool Input.

10. Tools that connect to a network

Two tools are designed to use the network, so they are set out separately:

  • API Tester sends the request you compose from your browser directly to the address you choose. The request does not pass through vidu.dev, and vidu.dev do not receive the request, its headers or its response. You are responsible for the addresses you send requests to.
  • Background Remover downloads an AI model from a public CDN the first time you use it, then runs that model on your device. Your image is not uploaded.

Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, the limited processing described in this policy rests on legitimate interests, namely operating the Site securely and delivering its pages to you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). No Personal Data is processed for marketing, profiling or automated decision-making.

12. Data retention

vidu.dev hold no personal data collection, so there is nothing on site side to retain or delete. Tool Input exists only for the life of the page in your browser. Settings saved under clause 6 remain on your device until you clear them. Server logs are retained by the hosting provider for the period stated in its own policy.

13. Your rights

Data protection laws, including the GDPR and similar laws elsewhere, give you rights over Personal Data held about you. These include the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

14. Data relating to minors

The Site is not directed at minors under 13. No Personal Data is knowingly collected from anyone, including minors.

15. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. Because the tools run on your device, the security of your Tool Input depends mainly on your own device and browser. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and no absolute guarantee of security can be given.

The Site links to external resources, including blog.vidu.dev, LinkedIn and GitHub. Those websites are controlled by others. This policy does not apply to them, and vidu.dev not responsible for their content or for their handling of your data.

17. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time, for example if the Site adds a feature that handles data differently. The current version is always published on this page with the date shown at the top. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the updated policy.
